Augusto gets another podium at Valencia round
Augusto Fernández took another podium in the European Moto2 Championship today, after finishing in third place the race of the second round of the season, that took place at the Valencia Circuit.
Both Augusto and his team were able to close the round with a great result after a difficult weekend, in which they weren’t able to find the right set up to finish in a better position.
Fernández starred a thrilling fight for the third place with Héctor Garzó, the rider who Augusto had to overtake to get his third podium out of three. This result places Augusto in the second position in the championship standings, just 10 points behind the leader.

“I’m happy with this podium after how the weekend went for us. We weren’t able to find the right set-up and we started the race after making some last changes after the warm-up. I still didn’t have a good feeling, but I was able to ride confortable fighting for the podium with Héctor Garzó, because we had more or less the same rythm. The two riders at the front were at other level today; I’ve tried to follow them, but I didn’t succeed, because I went straight and I made some mistakes. The race was fun for me and it was nice to win the fight for the third position. We’re still in the second position of the championship, a little bit farther from the leadership, but we hope to have a better weekend in Montmeló and be able to cut points.”
