A good start to the Austrian GP weekend for Augusto Fernández
From the Czech Republic to Austria and with hardly any rest, the Pons HP 40 Team started the eleventh race of the season on the Austrian Spielberg circuit on Friday.
It was a good opening day for Augusto Fernández. The Spanish rider quickly got the feeling to the Austrian track and spent the whole session riding among the ten fastest. Finally, the time of 1: 30.702 gave him the eleventh position, a little more than two tenths of the reference time of the session.
In the afternoon, heavy rain made an appearance and upset the practice session completely. Augusto went out on the track to try out settings in the wet and work on the configuration of his bike in case tomorrow the rain reappears, which the forecast says is likely.
Augusto Fernández, 11th, 1: 30.702 (+0.261)
“This morning, in the dry, we started quite well, with good sensations, being quickly in the times of the category, both with the hard tire and with the soft one.We know the sectors in which we must improve more but we are really among the most In the afternoon it rained hard and I just went out to roll, since it had been a long time since I rolled in water The sensations have not been very good, so if it rains tomorrow we have work ahead to qualify well on the grid, but I’m sure the sensations will improve.”
