Augusto Fernández to start Japanese Grand Prix from twelfth

The second day of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend has been a positive one for Augusto Fernández and the HP 40 Pons team, with a very good qualifying.

Already in the morning in the last free practice, Augusto and teammate Lorenzo Baldassari have placed inside the top 10, and he felt confident in continuing the good sensations into the timed Qualifying session in the afternoon.

Augusto ends the day satisfied. Throughout the weekend he has been among the best and while it is true that he hoped to be further ahead, twelfth position is a good result to start the race tomorrow. He feels he has rhythm and if he can make a good start he can be one of the stronger riders in the GP.

Augusto Fernández, 12th, 1: 51.359 (+0.600)
“Qualifying was a bit strange at the beginning, with the first rubber, we could not make a good time, but it seemed that with the second tyre we had found something, but nonetheless, I lacked feeling in the rear tyre and in the end I marked the time with the used rubber and being alone I felt very good, pulling hard and finding a good rhythm, but a truly good lap was missing. Tomorrow we will fight from twelfth position, and we are prepared to have a good race.”
