Augusto Fernández twenty-third on the first day of the Valencia Grand Prix
The Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana is synonymous with the end of the season and riders of the Pons HP 40 squad want to say goodbye with a good weekend. The first day of practice at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit was conducted under an intense rain that did not stop all day, leaving a track in really delicate conditions.
Both Augusto Fernández and Lorenzo Baldassarri took the first day calmly, looking to find the sensations in the wet and work on the correct set-up of their Kalex bikes.
It was a complicated day for Augusto. In the morning, the Spanish rider of the Pons HP 40 squad could not find the right feeling with his Kalex, but good work with his technical team allowed him to solve it for the afternoon session.
The sensations were better and he has ran much of the session in the top 10, until a fall, without consequences, ended with his good progression. Despite this, he is confident and eager to continue improving the rest of the weekend. He finished the day 23rd with a time of 1: 49.306.

“First day complicated, with a lot of rain and water on the track, in the morning it was hard for me to find the sensations, but in the afternoon we made some changes and I found myself much better until I fell. why I fell, because I was very quick on a corner, I was going faster and faster and feeling better and it was a shame to fall, ask the team for forgiveness and think about tomorrow.”
