Augusto Fernández among the fastest the first day at Silverstone
The twelfth round of the season started Friday with the Great Britain Grand Prix dispute in the ever-fast Silverstone track.
The first day of free practice has served to show that the pupils of Sito Pons are in a great moment of form to face this grand prix. Lorenzo Baldassarri has felt very comfortable on top of his Kalex, enjoying the new asphalt and always rolled in the head positions. He has scored a better record of 2:05.307 and serves to say goodbye to the day in fourth position.
A position ahead ends the day his teammate, Augusto Fernández, third. With some problems in the morning, the Spanish rider of the FlexBox HP 40 has been able to overcome them and mark a good lap of 2:05.282. Tomorrow he hopes to continue along this line and place himself on the first lines of the starting grid.
The FlexBox HP 40 riders will be back on track at 10:55 local time -11:55 Spanish peninsular time- to ride the last free practice and, the qualifying at 15:05 local time -16:05 Spanish peninsular time-.
Augusto Fernández, 3rd, 2: 05.282 (+0.289)
“Happy with the lap marked in the afternoon. In the morning it has cost us a bit and with the configuration of the motorcycle we have lost a little. In the afternoon we have returned to the starting point and we have achieved this time. Now it is time to continue improving tomorrow and replicate this time.”
