Augusto twelfth on day one in Japan
The second race of the four transoceanic has started today on the Motegi Twin Ring track in Japan.
The pupils of Sito Pons, Lorenzo Baldassarri and Augusto Fernández, have spent the first day looking for the right set-up of their Kalex and have encountered some complications.
It was not a strong start for Augusto Fernández. The Spanish rider of the FlexBox HP 40 has not found the way either in the morning or in the afternoon, but even so, it has marked the twelfth fastest time, 1:51.188, and has stayed just over half a second of the fastest time. Tomorrow he hopes to turn it around and show a great improvement.
The FlexBox HP 40 riders will be back on track at 9:55 local time -2:55 Spanish peninsular time- to contest the last free practice and, the qualifying time that will determine the order in the starting grid at 13:30 local time -6:30 Spanish peninsular time-.
Augusto Fernández, 12th, 1:51.188 (+0.541)
“First complicated day in Japan, it is costing us to get things out. We are not on the right way and we are testing several configurations but we are missing. The positive thing today is that we are already in Q2 in case the rain of tomorrow, and now it is time work with the team this afternoon as we are far away and I hope to improve tomorrow.”
