Australia and the impressive Phillip Island circuit have welcomed the MotoGP World Championship riders with it usual changing weather: in the morning, rain and cold; and, in the afternoon, sun and dry track.

Augusto Fernández and teammate Baldassarri encountered some typical difficulties of the first day, which they hope to solve tomorrow.

Under the rainfall, Augusto felt well, although some problems with settings do not reflect the position. And, in the afternoon, together with his technical team they worked on the dry set-up, making a better time of 1:33.887, which gives him thirteenth place in the combined times of the first day.

Augusto Fernández, 13th, 1:33.887 (+0.877)
“Today was a complicated day, although it may seem worse than it really is. In water the feeling was good and I felt strong, but we were wrong in a box stop and when we have modified the bike it has not given us time to leave again; Dry the same a little, but regardless of whether it is dry or wet, I think we are not so far and we are clear about the path. Tomorrow it will be important to make a good qualifying to be competitive on Sunday in the race”.
