Complicated qualifying for Augusto Fernandez
Saturday’s qualifying has been very complicated for the FlexBox HP 40, qualifying in unusually low positions.
In the morning, both riders have had some problems in their Kalex, problems that have not been able to improve in the official training of the afternoon. Augusto has entered Q2 and has scored a better time of 2:06.515, which gives him the seventeenth position and, teammate Baldassarri, has not been able to overcome the cut of Q2 and the time of 2:06.324 gives him the twenty-second place.
Complicated day for the FlexBox HP 40 but hopeful to find solutions that allow Sito Pons pupils to overcome in the morning race, scheduled for 18 laps, at 13:20 local time -6:20 Spanish peninsular time-.
Augusto Fernández, 17th, 2:06.515 (+1.271)
“Difficult day in Malaysia. We start on 17, back, but today due to bad luck a bit. In Q1 I have marked a competitive time but in Q2 I have not been able to replicate it. We have changed the tire and it has not worked well, riding almost a second slower. Tomorrow we will try to go back and pull forward, make a good start and look to set our pace, which is not bad.”
