Positive Marc VDS debut for Augusto Fernández in Valencia
The Estrella Galicia 0.0 Team Marc VDS is already working toward the 2020 season with two days of private testing at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, where main objectives included working on ergonomics, settings, establishing an initial base set-up and gaining kilometres.
Sun and pleasant temperatures accompanied the two days of private testing that took place at the Valencia track as preparations for the 2020 season got underway.
Augusto Fernández and teammate Sam Lowes made their debuts aboard the new Kalex chassis. During the two days they got a feel for their new bikes and began fine-tuning the gearing with the help of their new technical teams.
Augusto dedicated much of the test to ergonomic work. Once he found a comfortable riding position, he and the team focussed on establishing a base setting.
He spent time on the new front tyre that Dunlop has prepared for 2020. In addition to a new profile, the new rubber is wider than the one used in 2019.
Although there are still many things to perfect, the Majorcan rider and his team are satisfied with the results and the information obtained after two days of intense work and 152 laps of running.
“I’m very happy. During these two days we met with the team and discussed our way of working. We fit together really well. It’s been a very positive test in which I think we have reached a good base and a good starting point to continue moving forward. We’re going slowly, taking slow but sure steps. I think we’re doing things in the right way. At the start of each run I grew in confidence with both the motorcycle and the equipment and in the last runs we put in some very competitive times. That’s the best sign that we’re on the right track.”
