Productive second day of testing in Jerez for Augusto
With 81 laps completed on the second day of testing at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, Augusto Fernandez continues to build up his confidence at the controls of his new Kalex machine.
Augusto and his team continued to work on finding the best set-up possible with the Kalex frame, while improving rider feeling at the same time.
Following the same line of work as yesterday, Fernandez focused on experimenting with different chassis and electronics setting while continuing to assess the range of front tyres supplied by Dunlop. One key area of work today for the Team was gaining experience on worn tyres.
A race simulation is on the agenda for the final day tomorrow. Fernandez will also try a time attack on the third day of action.
“We’ve worked hard today, always looking to improve my feeling and understand how changes to the bike impact things. We’ve been riding a lot on used tyres and haven’t mounted the soft rubber. The objective is still to find the best possible base set-up that will serve as a general starting point for our work in preparing for the various races. We are still a few tenths off our potential pace, so we must keep working hard. I think we’re on the right track, so there’s no need to slacken off.”
