A week and a half ago, the 2021 Moto2 World Championship came to a close for Red Bull KTM Ajo. After a short break, the team have already started work for next season, with a two-day test at the Jerez-Angel Nieto Circuit on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Augusto Fernandez had his first encounter with his new crew, and had very positive feelings about the test.

Augusto showed a quick adaptation to the Red Bull KTM Ajo bike, and on Monday he was one of the most competitive riders at the test, achieving the sixth fastest time: a 1:42.410. On Tuesday, the Spaniard continued with his intense work plan, and after the two days in the Spanish track, and gained valuable information ahead of next season.

Augusto and teammate Pedro Acosta will return to action in the first test of 2022, again at Jerez from February 22nd to 24th.

“We conclude this first test of the 2022 pre-season very happy. Above all, I’m satisfied with how the second day went, as we were able to focus our work on the bike – because yesterday we mostly did tests with the Dunlop tyres. The team and I understood each other better all the time. I feel good around all of them; we started well and we have similar ways of thinking. I would like to continue working with them, rather than go on holiday, and continue preparing for the next campaign. However, it is necessary to rest, because that way we will come back stronger next year. I want to thank Red Bull, KTM, Aki Ajo and the entire crew for these two days.”
