The Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit reopens its doors to the Motorcycle World Championship this weekend, after two seasons away. The Argentina Grand Prix takes Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 to South America to contest the third round of the 2022 campaign. Augusto Fernandez and teammate Pedro Acosta are enthusiastic and motivated for the new challenge.

Augusto finished the Indonesian Grand Prix in fifth position, in a tough race full of uncertainty due to changing weather conditions. The Spaniard once again proved to be one of the strongest and most competitive riders on the grid, qualifying on the front row. This time, Fernandez will face added difficulty, in the form of a track at which he has only had a few laps on it. He currently occupies the 5th position in the overall standings, with 24 points.

The Moto2 race Argentina Grand Prix will start at 1:20 PM local time, over 23 laps.

“At the Indonesian Grand Prix, we took some good points and, although we expected to fight to be further up the order, taking into account the situation we salvaged something from it and met the goal of scoring points at all the races. It is with this same mentality that we now arrive in Argentina. In 2019 I was only able to ride there on Friday Free Practice, as at the end of the day I crashed and suffered a pretty serious injury. However, I remember that, until that moment, the circuit was going well for me. I have only had a few laps on it, so I will have to make an effort to remember it and work hard to adapt almost as if it were a new track. The goal is once again to get as many points as possible. We will do everything to try to be in the fight for the victory on Sunday and to complete this round with a good performance.”
