The German Grand Prix kicked off on Friday at Sachsenring, and was a positive day for Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2. Augusto Fernandez was fastest in both Free Practice sessions, with teammate Pedro Acosta finishing just behind him in second position overall.

Augusto had good feelings in FP1, and steadily improved his times throughout the morning. He led the way before stopping in the pits, and subsequently maintained a good pace for the remainder of his 23 laps, placing first thanks to his 1:24.222 time.

High temperatures in FP2 prevented the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 riders from further improvement until late in the session. Augusto remained one of the pacesetters, as both made two pit stops, going on to clock impressive hot laps: He was the fastest rider of the day with a 1:24.023, on his 15th lap of 21.

Moto2 Q1 for the German Grand Prix will take place on Saturday from 3:10 PM local time, and Q2 will be at 3:35 PM.

“I’m happy and felt very comfortable with the bike at this circuit. We will see how the day unfolds tomorrow. It seems that the temperatures are going to rise quite a bit and we have to see how that affects the conditions. We are focused on working hard in each session and will try to keep this up.”
