Season 2023

“My first goal is to be the best on the team”

Augusto Fernández makes his debut in MotoGP, he faces the season with the utmost enthusiasm after being Moto2 champion. The motorcycling World Championship will start its engines this weekend at the Portuguese circuit of Estoril, where Augusto Fernández (GasGas Tech 3) will debut in the premier class of the competition.

“I am happy with how the preparation has gone so far. It is true that there is a lot of difference between Moto2 and MotoGP but this is what I had dreamed of all my life”.

He stated in a conference held at the Nivia Born Boutique Hotel, in the center of Palma.

Regarding the objetivos, Fernéndez explained that he is not thinking of finishing in a specific place in the races.

“My first goal is to be the best on the team. First, to beat my teammate Pol Espargaró and them the two KTM riders who also have a lot of experience in the category”.

“Although last year I was happy with my physical condition, in recent months I have trained a little more. Then, as for bike, the difference in power with that of Moto2 is evident and it has forced me to change the way I ride a bit”.

The novelty in this year’s World Cup will be the inclusion of sprint races, which will be help on Saturday afternoon.

“I still don’t have an opinion on it, but I think it could benefit me because being new if the race is ten laps I can do better if I don’t have so much pace. Ww´ll see…”.
